The Newfoundland Offshore Industry Association (NOIA) Annual conference has opened new doors to eastern Canada oil industry. Canada’s Minister of Natural Resources Gary Lunn today announced the creation of a new governmental agency called the Atlantic Canada Energy Office ( ACE) to be based in St Johns Newfoundland which will look after all matters relating to Atlantic Canada’s Energy Industry. The Minister also reinforced Atlantic Canada’s offshore

industry as being on the the worlds most significant regions for project development.

Atlantic Canada has a number of offshore and onshore oil and gas projects that are bringing approximately $10 Billion to the province of Newfoundland & Labrador per year. The growth of the province has made Newfoundland as one of the best places for Oil Investment in North America.

Companies like Husky, & StatOil Hydro already have offices in the picturesque St Johns.

The Atlantic Canada Petroleum show was also held concurrently with the NOIA Conference and showed a very positive response. Almost 400 companies exhibited their product and services at the Mile One stadium where the event was held.

Newfoundland and Labrador is the beginning of a very productive energy market. With the completion of projects such as White Rose, Terra Nova, and Hebron, the full potential of the province will e unleashed.
